The John Thorpe Masonic Museum
ABOUT
A BRIEF HISTORY
The main collection of the museum is a set of artefacts, documents, and books donated to the Museum & Library by W.Bro. J. T. Thorpe, whose portrait is shown on the right.

Many other donations followed to provide the Museum with a unique collection of artefacts documenting the development of Masonry over the past 300 or so years. Many of the exhibits are unique and include such things as Masonic jewels made by French Prisoners of the Napoleonic War, and early histories and rituals going back to the late seventeenth century.

The collections are mainly Masonic jewels, glassware, pottery, and regalia; but other Masonic items are also displayed providing some insight into the influence of masonry within this Province and its influence on the social history of the County and the Country.

OUR MISSION
Our mission is to provide a comprehensive research environment for those masons (and members of the public) who are interested in pursuing research into current and past masonic activities and their influence on the history of the county.
THE CURATORS and LIBRARIANS
During the history of the Library and Museum, many have contributed to the upkeep of the collections. To mention but a few: W.Bro. J. T. Thorpe, W.Bro. J. Ridge, ... , and in the current period W.Bro. D. O. Mckeown and W.Bro. D. Peacock (the current director).
